Khaled Mahmud, Bangladesh national cricket team’s technical director, will be on a break during the upcoming home series against India.
BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus told media on Thursday that board granted him the break after he requested for it.
“Mahmud is our team director but he will not be available during the series against India because he will be taking rest but he will certainly come back,” he said.
However, Daily Cricket understands that there is a possibility that suggest Mahmud might not return in the Bangladesh dressing room any time soon.

BCB decided to bring back Mahmud, former interim head coach and technical director, in a new role called ‘team director’ following the team's debacle at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021.
Mahmud, who previously served as a technical director, had decided to step down from the position as he did not have any say on selection and planning prepared by head coach Russell Domingo and other members of the team management.
Later, Mahmud played a big part behind bringing in Sridharan Sriram as the technical consultant of Bangladesh T20 set-up. Sriram replaced Domingo ahead of the Asia Cup as BCB opted for split coaching.
