Bangladesh received severe blow in the fast bowling department after Taskin Ahmed was ruled out of the first game of the upcoming series against India.
The Bangladesh quick was expected to lead the home team's pace attack considering the form he has been carrying. For now, Shoriful Islam has been called in as a back-up in the ODI squad.
"Taskin is ruled out from the opening game of the ODIs as his back pain recurred," said Minhajul.
"We will be seeing his progress before taking further decision regarding his participation," he added.

The full-strength India side, with Rohit Sharma as skipper and Rahul Dravid as coach, arrived in Bangladesh today to play three ODIs along with two Tests, part of the World Test Championship, from December 14-18 and December 22-26.
The opening two ODIs will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka respectively on June 4 and 7, while the last game of the one-day series will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on November 10. The opening Test will be played at Chattogram on the same venue while India will play their series-concluding second Test at SBNS in Dhaka.
