Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Tuesday that all doors are not closed for Sridharan Sriram in the Tigers dressing room.
Since the appointment of Hathurusingha as the across format head coach of Bangladesh team there is a rumor floating around in the cricketing fraternity that there is hardly any possibility of Sriram to make a return in the national set-up.
The former Indian all-rounder replaced Russell Domingo in the T20’s set-up before the Asia Cup and guided Bangladesh in the last edition of ICC World T20 tournament.
Khaled Mahmud, Bangladesh team director, told media on Tuesday that he is not sure whether all doors are closed for Sriram and feels that he might make a comeback in some way or the other.

Sriram earlier came to Dhaka to meet BCB high-ups during the first phase of BPL but both parties could not agreed to any terms and condition that would pave way for Sriram to make a return in the national dressing room.
“As far as I know he( Sriram) still have a chance( to make a comeback in the national dressing room). I am a bit detached due to BPL. I had a talk ( with Sriram) and he must be having some demand and we want he should come and let’s see how much time he can give and in what capacity that is a big thing but till now all the doors are not closed for him(Sriram),” Mahmud told reporters
“He (Sriram) is expected to talk with Papon( Nazmul) bhai and I don’t know anything apart from that,” he said adding that both Hathurusingha and Sriram had same coaching philosophy.
“Obviously every coach have a different philosophy. From that regard…I feel that Sri and Hathu are mirror images of each other. I have worked with both and held discussions and yes obviously there is room for different philosophies but both are attacking minded and positive as coaches. Of course there is the thing that Hathu will be given time to build the side since he has been handed the head coach role. I don’t think it will be very difficult,” he said.
Mahmud added that he had already spoken with Hathurusingha and told him that they want to have some local coaches in the national dressing room and the former Sri Lankan batsman agreed to the proposal as it will help the local coaches to grow as well make sure his plans are executed when he is away with the team of a specific format.
“I have good relationship with Hathu and I have already talked to him over the phone and there was a brief discussion on the matter. He is very positive and he wanted a big team management unit with local coaching staff included so that when the team goes out of the country the other players get to practice. He was able to influence me on the matter and when he comes we will be able to work on it and be successful,” he conclude
