Bangladesh ODI’s skipper Tamim Iqbal is all set to miss the remaining part of Bangladesh Premier League for Khulna Tigers due to groin strain.

It is understood that Bangladesh Cricket Board’s medical team is looking after him at the moment as the groin injury recurred.

National selector Minhajul Abedin is hopeful that he will be available for the upcoming home series against England.

“He( Tamim) is having slight bit of discomfort (with his groin) and that is the reason he is not playing their (Khulna Tigers) last game as part of precaution,” Minhajul told Daily Cricket on Tuesday.

“We are expecting him to be available during the series against England as we are hopeful that he will be fine before the series after taking proper rest,” he said.

England will arrive on February 24 to play three ODI’s and as many T20I’s. Tamim is expected to lead the ODI’s side while he will not be available in the shortest format as he retired from T20’s last year.
