Bangladesh Cricket Board appointed Khaled Mahmud as the team director of Bangladesh team in the upcoming home series against Pakistan, said Bangladesh Cricket Board on Saturday.

BCB decided to bring back Mahmud, former interim head coach and technical director, as team director following the debacle in the ongoing ICC World T20.

Khaled, who was appointed technical director earlier, decided to step down from the position as he did not had any say on selection and planning prepared by Domingo.

However, BCB now decided to take a different route altogether, as they opted to make him parTof the selection process as well as giving him the authority to have a say on the planning of Tigers that is usually will be prepared by the coaching panel.

‘’We have appointed him as team director and he will be part of selection and planning,’’ BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told Daily Cricket on Saturday.

‘’We have long term plan (about keeping Mahmud as team director) but now he is appointed for the Pakistan series and later we will decide regarding his future,’’ he said.

Mahmud, who was appointed technical director of women’s team, will not be travelling to Zimbabwe as planned earlier and instead will work out on how to prepare the Tigers for the upcoming home series against Pakistan, scheduled to play three T20’s and two Tests, beginning from November 19.
