Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Chandrakant Pandit said on Tuesday that they are waiting for their Bangladesh stars Shakib al Hasan and Litton Das to join the camp for the upcoming Indian Premier League.
“We are regularly contacting with them [Shakib-Litton], they will join the camp soon. Even if they are not with the team physically, they are with us mentally. Hope to get them soon, they are playing [International Series] at the moment,’’ Pandit told reporters ahead of the tournament, scheduled to start on March 31.
The national cricket board has made it clear that international commitments come first, and players won't be released for IPL games if they conflict though it is common for teams to release their players for IPL matches during international tours.
Bangladesh are currently playing three-match T20I series against the Irish, where the Tigers have won the first match and will play the next two games on March 29th and 31st.
