Sylheti cricketers looks all set to boycott upcoming first division league as clubs decided to play the top tier league without relegation. 

“Our demand was to play flat league ( round robin) and there should be relegation. Now they are saying that there will no relegation and in that case there is no point playing in the league,” Enamul Haque, president of Sylhet’s Cricket Welfare Association told Daily Cricket.

The Sylhet Cricket Welfare Association members sat with Sylhet District Sports Association members to sort out the matter but as no positive outcome came from the meeting cricketers decided to boycott the league unless their demands are met.

.The 12-team first division league was scheduled to start from February 15 (Wednesday). 

Enamul said that they have informed BCB while added that they would also boycott the District Championship that is scheduled to be held in Sylhet.

“Look we have already informed about our stance to Nadel bhai( Shafiul Alam Chowdhury- BCB director from Sylhet Division) and waiting to see what he do for us,” he said.

Enamul said that clubs are threatening them that they will play the league with cricketers from different cricket academies.
