Sri Lanka decides to skip their practice session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday as part of precaution against polluted air.

“We have cancelled our practice as per doctors advice as they have instructed us to stay indoors,” a member of Sri Lanka team management told Daily Cricket on Saturday.

Bangladesh cancelled their scheduled training on Friday (November 3) due to polluted air but decided not to take the same route on Saturday in order to adapt with the condition and situation.

According to ESPN Cricinfo as the air quality index (AQI) rose above 400, an ICC spokesperson told ESPNcricinfo that the situation was being monitored. "

“The ICC and our hosts the BCCI take the well-being of all participants seriously and are monitoring the air quality in Delhi. We are taking expert advice to assess the situation,” an official involved with the organizing committee was quoted in ESPNcricinfo. 

An air emergency was declared in Delhi on Thursday, as the air quality index (AQI) rose above 400 in several places in the city, forcing the government to close schools for two days and impose restrictions on construction and vehicle traffic.

It was learnt that chances are slim that the match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be rescheduled though there were rumors that it might be shifted in Lucknow.

According to media reports the ICC and the BCCI are taking the well-being of all participants seriously and are monitoring the air quality in Delhi while both the parties are taking expert advice to assess the situation.
