Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan joined in Bangladesh's team practice today after returning negative in the Covid-19 test.

Shakib is expected to play the second Test, starting on Saturday as he is believed to gain full fitness.

The premier all-rounder of the world has been suffering from the hamstring injury which forced him to sit out for Bangladesh's last two matches in the Twenty20 World Cup's Super 12s and followed it by missing out the three-match T20 International series against Pakistan but was on his way to return to the Test series.

However just ahead of the first Test, he failed to pass the fitness test and was ruled out.

Shakib, who began his individual preparation earlier this week after recovering from the hamstring injury, came to the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the morning to have an individual net session.

Shakib’s batting against net bowlers raised quite a few eyebrows as his teammates were scheduled to complete their practice session in the afternoon.

Shakib batted for another half-an-hour inside the indoor against a bowling machine after joining his teammates to make sure all his bases were covered ahead of the game against Pakistan.
