The Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 2022 festivity reached Chattogram as the six teams participating in the special edition of the money-spinning tournament, organized to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, set foot in the port city Wednesday.

The Challengers arrived in Chittagong Tuesday, a day earlier than the other five teams and had their first practice session yesterday despite the overcast weather.

Following the first phase of the tournament in Dhaka, Minister Group Dhaka have played the most number of games, four, and are at the bottom of the table having registered only one win despite the vast number of experienced names in the dressing room.

Comilla Victorians are leading the chart with two wins in as many games, followed by Chattogram with two victories in three matches.

Fortune Barishal is at No 3 with one win in three games, followed by Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Sunrisers with a win each at No 4 and 5 respectively.

Over the course of four matchdays, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium will host eight matches with the home team Chattogram Challengers playing the highest – four.

On the opening day of the Chittagong phase of the tournament at ZACS Friday, home team Chattogram will take on Khulna in the afternoon game.

In the evening Sylhet will face Dhaka.

Like it has been in Dhaka, due to the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, the matches will be held behind closed doors.
