Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana said that they are keeping their celebration on hold as they want to make it grand by completing their job in hand.
Nigar made the statement following their maiden ODI win over India in the low scoring affair at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
Bangladesh national women’s team registered their maiden win over India in the 50-over format when they beat the neighbouring side by 40 runs in the D/L method during the opening WODI of the ongoing three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Pacer Marufa Akter starred with the ball for the Tigresses as she claimed 4-29 in her seven overs while leg-spinner Rabeya Khan also took three wickets as the hosts bowled the opposition all out for 113 runs in 35.5 overs to end their five-match losing streak against India.
Earlier, skipper Nigar Sultana Joty struck the highest 39 off 64 balls while Fargana Haque made 27 runs before Bangladesh were bowled out for 152 runs in 43 overs during the rain-reduced 44-over contest.
“The girls were excited (after the win) but I told them we have not done our job yet. We know of we can play good cricket we will move one step and it will be a huge achievement for us. So far I have hold them from celebrating as I feel we still have few things left to achieve,” Nigar told reporter following their historic win.
“If we can win the series we will celebrate in that(big) way ( I guess),” she said.
