Veteran wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim became the first cricketer to play 100 matches in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) during his side Sylhet Strikers match against Dhaka Dominators at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.
Mushfiqur however is the regular face of BPL and played all of the nine editions of this tournament. He is currently the second highest run-getter in this franchise-based tournament, having scored 2582 runs so far in 99 matches at an average of 37.97. He couldn't hit any century as his best score in this tournament is 98 not out.
Unfortunately he is yet to touch the golden trophy of BPL. Mushfiqur, who had already retired from T20 International so far played one final but lost that match.

Meanwhile some more players could hit the milestone of playing 100 BPL matches in this season. Anamul Haque Bijoy is in the second in the list after Mushfiqur with 96 matches. Mashrafe (95), Imrul Kayes (94), Mahmudullah Riyad and Sabbir Rahman (93 each) and Mohammad Mithun (91) are all highly likely to touch the feat of 100 matches.
