Pakistan have included opener Imam-Ul-Haq, middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam and off-spinner Bilal Asif in the 20-man squad for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh, where they play two Tests. The trio come in place of Haris Rauf, Imran Butt, Shahnawaz Dahani and Yasir Shah, who were all part of the touring party to West Indies in July-August.

Asif has taken Yasir's spot as the spinner in the squad as the leggie is still recovering from a thumb injury that he suffered during the National T20. The 36-year-old Asif comes in with 16 wickets in five Tests to his name, and will be handful against a Bangladesh line-up with a few left-handers in it.

Imam, who last played a Test in November 2019, has found his way back into the squad following his impressive outings in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, where he accumulated 488 runs in five innings, including an unbeaten double hundred. This form has coincided with Imran Butt's downward curve, who has scored at just 17.8 in 10 Test innings.

Kamran missed the West Indies tour after making the squad for the home series against South Africa on the back of 1249 runs in the 2020-21 QeA season, and is now back again. He is presently in Sri Lanka with the Pakistan Shaheens where he scored 58 not out and 45 in two innings of the rain-affected two-match four-day series.

The tour kicks off in Chittagong with the first Test from November 26, followed by a trip to the national capital - Dhaka - for the second fixture from December 4.

‘’As we already have four frontline fast bowlers, we have allowed Haris Rauf and Shahnawaz Dahani to return to Pakistan after the T20Is so that they can play in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and prepare for Australia Tests," Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim said.

"Bangladesh are a strong side in their backyard but we have the resources, talent and experience to perform strongly and then carry that momentum into the Australia Tests, which will be part of the ICC World Test Championship," Wasim said.

Pakistan squad: Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan, Abdullah Shafique, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali, Bilal Asif, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Afridi, Zahid Mahmood
