Bangladesh team director Khaled Mahmud said on Wednesday that they are confident regarding the youngster representing them in the forthcoming ICC World Cup.
Bangladesh opted to pick young Tanzid Tamim in place of partially fit Tamim Iqbal in their 15-member World Cup squad that also included youngster like Tanzim Sakib into it.
Tigers left for Guwahati today where they will face Sri Lanka and England respectively on September 29 and October 2 in their two warm-up matches before they travel to Dharamshala for their tournament opener.
Ahead of departing for the mega tournament Mahmud urges everyone to keep faith on their youngster.
“Many will say that the young boys are going, youngsters but they have the ability to do well and so they are going there. We have to believe these 15 cricketers who are selected as they are the best,” Mahmud told reporters at the Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport on Wednesday.
“This should be accepted, should be trusted. I will just say we will try our best to keep the country's dignity high. We have youth, experience,” he said.
“This is an exciting team. Senior cricketers were also saying, if not now then when? I also think, if not now then when? It is our time,” he said
