Sylhet Challengers pace bowler Taskin Ahmed said that there is no problem between him and the franchise regarding payment issues.
On February 1, Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League governing council member secretary Ismail Haider informed media that a cricketer wants to quit the tournament despite getting 70 percent payment from the franchise to take part for them in the ongoing BBPL.
Media later revealed that Taskin happens to be the player.
However, Taskin on Tuesday said that there was some sort of miscommunication that brought this out of proportion.
‘’Actually nothing that significant happened between me and Joy bhai. It was not a clash and it was more of a miscommunication. There were talks about it being cleared and I thought my payments will be paid in full before playing the full set of matches. Actually there is a procedure and the payments will be cleared according to that procedure,’’ said Taskin.
‘’It’s not a clash I think it’s not even news material. I have talked to Joy bhai and from the BPL governing council, I have been told that I will receive the payments according the procedure. I actually made that call to get information on the matter,’’ he said.
A franchise is expected to clear 50 percent payment before the tournament while they are expected to clear the rest of the amount before the tournament.
