Bangladesh will play a two-match T20I series against UAE as part of their World Cup preparation, scheduled on September 25 and 27.

Bangladesh Cricket Board and their United Arab Emirates counterpart announced that the series will be named ‘SKYEXCH UAE v Bangladesh Friendship series 2022’.

BCB was planning to have a short camp abroad as the national cricketers were unable to practice due to rain. Bangladesh will depart on September 22 and return home on 28 for a short stay before leaving for New Zealand to play a T20I tri-series involving Pakistan apart from the host and afterwards will travel to Australia to take part in the global T20I tournament.

“More than condition (in Dubai) what is more important is that we could not practice here due to weather condition and taking this into consideration team management planned it that way,” BCB chief executive Nizamuddin told reporters when he was asked whether this short camp will help them as condition in UAE will be different from New Zealand and Australia.

“Dubai is not far and apart from the facilities what we feel is that if we can play two extra matches before going to a major tournament it will certainly help as the preparation will be much better,” he said
