Bangladesh team will play a practice match against an Afghanistan XI today at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Dehradun. The match will start at 8.30 pm BDT. This would be a crucial game for the Tigers ahead of the T20I series against the rejuvenated Afghan team.

Some of the members of the Afghanistan national side will feature in this match. So this is another reason Tigers' will take this game seriously. Through this match, they would definitely get some idea about their opposition.

Cricketers have spent considerable time on the ground to get a proper idea of the pitch. On Thursday during the practice session Bangladesh team two of the exciting talents Mosaddek Hossain and Soumya Sarkar expressed their views regarding the practice match.

Mosaddek Hossain thinks this match will help them to identify the condition of the pitch. “Obviously, it's a bit hotter here in Dehradun than it is in Bangladesh and our first training session on Wednesday and the one today [Thursday] has helped us adjust with conditions. I think playing the practice game tomorrow [Friday] will help us more in terms of getting used to the pitch,”

Meanwhile opener Soumya  Sarkar said “Obviously, if their main bowlers take part in the practice game, it will certainly help us get an idea of their team and also the bowlers. Personally, it's an important series for me and I will try to prove my worth and build my confidence,”

All the team members except Tamim Iqbal are already in Dehradun. Tamim is expected to join with the team by today.

Bangladesh will play their first match against Afghanistan on Sunday 3rd June. The other two matches will be played on 5th and 7th June. Dehradun Cricket Stadium will host all the matches.
