Defending champion England and New Zealand are set to face each other in the tournament opener on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The 13th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup’s schedule has been released which will be hosted by India between October 5 to November 19.
Bangladesh will begin their campaign against Afghanistan at Dharamasala on October 7 while they will take on England at the same venue three days later.
Bangladesh will take on New Zealand at Chennai and India at Pune respectively on October 14 and 19. Tigers will play South Africa at Mumbai on October 24 before moving to Kolkata to play two group-phase matches.
Tiger will take on Qualifier 1 at the Eden Gardens on October 28 while face the Pakistan team at the same venue on October 31.
Bangladesh match against qualifier 2 is scheduled on November 6 at Delhi while they will complete their group phase game by taking on Australia at Pune on November 12.
The much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash is scheduled for Sunday October 15 in Ahmedabad. Their last encounter in the 2019 World Cup was a high-scoring affair with India achieving a huge victory in Manchester.
The Final will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19 with November 20 slated as the reserve day.
As host, team India has automatically qualified for World Cup 2023, along with India, seven other teams South Africa, England, Bangladesh, Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan have qualified for the World Cup 2023.
The final two spots will be determined at the end of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, which concludes on July 9.
The ten-team-based tournament will be played in a round-robin format each participating team will play the other nine teams once in the group stage where a total of 45 group matches will be played.

Venues:
There will be a total of 10 venues – Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram in addition to Hyderabad will host the warm-up matches from 29 September to 3 October.
