Bangladesh's uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali has been taken to hospital after he was injured while fielding during the third ODI against Sri Lanka at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Anamul Haque and Jaker Ali cashed into each other while attempting the catch of Pramod Madushan off the bowling of Taskin Ahmed.  Jaker had to be stretchered off the field.

“He (Jaker) has hurt is neck and is receiving medical treatment,” BCB said in a statement.

Furthermore, Soumya Sarkar copped an injury in the neck when he hit the advertisement board while stopping the ball and later Tanzid Hasan came to open the innings as he was named the concussion substitute for Sarkar.

“Soumya fell hard while attempting to save a boundary and also hit the advertisement billboard. His head hit the ground in the process and he felt stiffness in the neck and also complained of a headache and vision difficulties. A SCAT5 assessment was done when he came off. He has also hurt his left knee,” Bayjedul Islam Khan, national team physio said in a statement

“We had applied for a concussion replacement and this has been approved,” he added.

It hasn't been a good day for Bangladesh overall in the field in terms of injuries. Mustafizur Rahman also left the field in a stretcher after experiencing cramps whereas

Umpire Richard Kettleborough also did not take the field due to heat and was replaced by Tanvir Ahmed for this third ODI.
